Tibetan prayer flags in my room
The topic I choose here is again not technical or analytical but rather philosophical. Such philosophical concepts have immensely driven me to live and have shaped my mind. For example, I have often questioned myself: how important is it to keep a record of our past or plan for the future? The experience from the past is necessary because it teaches us what to do or not do; essentially, it is a learning experience. While planning for the future is also essential because it provides a vision to move forward.
I find that thinking about these two aspects, at least in me, brings anxiety or stress. Thinking about the past brings guilt, and thinking about the future brings fear. This situation often reminds me of a proverb by Master Uruguay in the movie "Kamfu Panda."
"Yesterday is a history; tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a present".
I believe, indeed, focussing on the present can make us relax, but the question is how? For example, I just pack my bag and go to the countryside; this resets my thought process and relaxes my mind to a great extent. I am sure for a different individual; there are various ways. I believe that occasionally resetting the mind and thought process and restarting it can provide a meaningful path.
Handling the information from the past and preparing for future events can effectively shape our life, but I find it challenging to manage them. The memory of the past often accumulates as a cache file in our brain and slows down our response; therefore, under such circumstances, it becomes imperative to reset and restart freshly. Thus, Reset and Restart have become a familiar ritual to survive.
