In this blog, I would like to narrate three important questions which are deeply philosophical but used very often by researchers, corporations, business firms or even by an individual to understand the broad perspective of life. They are -
(i) Why do we want to do something?
(ii) What do we want to do?
(iii) How are we going to do?
The rationale behind these questions is straightforward: they are broadly meant to funnel down our thought process to a list of a few essential questions that are relevant to us. I find the coaches who train the corporate personnel insist executives ask these questions. Interestingly, the researchers are also trained to ask these questions, and they have to answer them every time they propose a research project.
Besides all this, I entered the 30s club, and life started knocking on a bell, creating an alert almost every time. All these 3 questions wander so often that they take me to a quiescent state. But well, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what comes and goes or what mental state we have.
Albeit, these questions may appear challenging, at least for me, it is helping on the professional front. Apart from these questions, another key thing that I find important is splitting a question into many smaller questions. I find this technique very helpful for starting something new. Of course, reaching the level of experts takes time, but this technique has at least allowed me to get a head start.
PS: I just wrote my thoughts based on my experience. Therefore, what I say is not universal.
